Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre are two conjoined global food events, which take place biennially in Turin, Italy. This year, the event will be held from October 23rd to the 27th. While the Terra Madre network regroups small-scale producers from around the world, Salone del Gusto is dedicated to the world of food. There will be over 1000 exhibitors, from Slow Food members to chefs to farmers, representing over 130 countries.
We are happy to announce that the Acadian and New Brunswick community will be represented to this exciting event. Two members from Slow Food Cocagne Acadie: their president, Maxime Gauvin, and Christina Allain, myself, will share the best practices learnt during our Terra Madre experience.
In order to lighten the transportation costs, Slow Food Cocagne Acadie is hosting a Fundraiser Supper: Italy in Acadie on August 22nd, 2014. A five-course meal inspired by Italian cuisine, prepared with local products from the Maritimes. The menu is designed by Diane Savoie, culinary artist. Do not miss this culinary event!
